Q: What is the maximum amount of data that can be banked?
A: The maximum amount of unused data that can be stored in a bank is 500GB.
If a service is on a a plan with 60GB, and has 40GB remaining at the end of the month, and the bank was at 480GB, then the data that will be carried forth into the bank will be a maximum of 20GB to bring the bank balance to 500GB. The other unused 20GB will be forfeited. The inclusion after the billing period ends will be the plan inclusion of 60GB + the 500GB bank balance.
Q: Can banked data be shared with other subscribers?
A: No, data banking is for stand-alone services on a single phone number/SIM. Any stored data cannot be “gifted” or transferred to another subscriber.
Q: Can a service retain it’s data bank during a plan change?
A: If a service changes plan from a lower plan (eg: 10GB up to 20GB), then any rollover will be retained. If the service changes from a higher plan (eg: 20GB) down to a lower plan (eg: 10GB), then any banked data will be forfeited
Q: Can rollover be used for roaming?
A: No – rollover balance is for domestic use only, and cannot be used if the service roams outside of the Australian mobile network.
