Currently, IPv6 is not supported on Telair’s NBN and OptiComm services, both of which operate using IPv4 addressing.
We understand that IPv6 adoption is becoming increasingly important as more networks, applications, and devices move towards it. Supporting IPv6 will bring benefits such as:
A vastly expanded address space
Improved efficiency for certain types of traffic
Simplified configurations in some environments
Roadmap
While IPv6 is not available today on NBN and OptiComm services, it is on our roadmap. Plans to implement IPv6 across our network are underway, and we’ll share updates once a rollout timeline has been confirmed.
Enterprise & Transit Services
IPv6 is already supported on certain enterprise-grade services, including:
Ethernet Enterprise (EE)
Ethernet Access (EA)
ISP transit and upstream connections
If your organisation is using or considering these services, IPv6 can be provisioned as part of the setup. Please speak with your account manager if you’d like to explore these options.
What This Means for NBN and OptiComm Customers
If your business or applications require IPv6 at this time, you may need to use workarounds such as tunnelling or dual-stack solutions provided at the application or device level.
For the majority of NBN and OptiComm customers, IPv4 remains fully supported and will continue to meet current connectivity needs.
Stay Updated
We’ll publish updates in our Knowledge Base as soon as IPv6 becomes available on Telair NBN and OptiComm services.
