What’s an AVC ID and where do I find it?

What is an AVC ID?

An AVC ID (Access Virtual Circuit Identifier) is a unique number assigned to each active nbn® connection. This identifier is used by nbn co and service providers to manage and distinguish individual connections.

Every active broadband connection on the nbn network has its own AVC ID. The AVC ID for your home or business is unique to that specific connection. If you move to a new address or switch providers, the new connection will have a different AVC ID.

What does an AVC ID look like?

An AVC ID consists of 15 characters—starting with "AVC" followed by 12 digits.

Example: AVC000123456789

Why do I need an AVC ID?

From April 2025, when switching nbn providers, you’ll need to provide your AVC ID to your new provider to ensure a smooth transition.

Your AVC ID may also be used by Telair and nbn co when troubleshooting connection issues, helping to quickly identify and resolve any service-related problems.

Where can I find my AVC ID?

You can locate your AVC ID in the following places:

  • Your Telair invoice – It will be listed alongside your nbn service details.
  • The Telair Customer Portal – If available, your AVC ID will be displayed under your active services.
If you’re transferring your service to Telair from another provider, your current provider should be able to provide your AVC ID.

How are AVC IDs used?

AVC IDs help ensure accuracy when managing nbn connections. They allow nbn co and service providers to:

  • Identify the correct service when setting up or transferring a connection.
  • Resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Distinguish between multiple nbn connections at the same property (e.g. apartments, office buildings).

Having your AVC ID on hand can help streamline service changes and troubleshooting. If you need assistance, feel free to contact the Telair team.
